Spa Guy's replacement hot tub covers are manufactured with a 5 inch to 3 inch taper to allow for rain water to run off. Without a proper slope on a cover water will pool in the center eventually causing the cover to bow and break. Many manufactures offer only flat covers which quickly start pooling water in the center.
