Every hot tub cover Spa Guy builds is upgraded to 2 pound high density inserts. 2 Pound density inserts are stronger, have a higher R Value, and absorb less water than covers built out of 1 or 1.5 pound density foam.

Foam density refers to the weight per cubic foot of the insulation material. Our expanded polystyrene foam cores are made out of 100% virgin beads and heat sealed in a 4 mill plastic vapor barrier. Since the beads that make up the foam core are packed closer together their is less space for water to be be absorberd.
